Fiber-coupled detectors that outplay similar deices
With our detectors, we can compete with established technologies such as APD and PMT, outperforming them in many specifications if not all. With SSPDs, a remarkably wide spectral range from visible to mid-IR is possible, as well as unprecedented speeds due to superconducting to normal state transitions. Being resistant to damage from optical and electrical spikes, our detectors can remain active for more than 4 weeks.
SYSTEM SETUPS
There are two available system types
Detector module
A compact module that contains a fiber-coupled detector of the desired type. Base temperature determines the final characteristics of the detector.
Closed-cycle refrigerators
Refrigerators based on the Gifford-McMahon cycle. By simply pushing a button, a base temperature of 2.2 K (0.8 K optionally) is achieved. Our cryostats can cool down up to 16 SSPDs with the required characteristics. During one cooling cycle, the system can operate continuously for up to four weeks.
CONFIGURATION
Our detectors are configured for different operation ranges and optimized for efficiency, noise, and temporal resolution, depending on the requirements of your experiment. Detectors from our company are characterized by the following modifications:
High-efficiency detectors
The optimal combination of high system efficiency and temporal resolution, low noise, moderate bandwidth.
Low-noise detectors
The dark count rate is reduced to one per second by using variable filtering techniques. Sensors have narrower spectral responses.
Ultra-high-efficiency detectors
Modified HED version that is operated at lower temperatures and therefore has a better performance by all parameters.
Low-jitter detectors
Temporal resolution 25 ps.
Broadband detectors
Optimized optical cavity increases the bandwidth with a moderate drop in system efficiency.
Multimode large-area detectors
